Council is meeting next Wednesday from 9am in Chambers in Bellingen and your Greens Councillors love to see friendly faces in the gallery. As usual, the public are welcome to either observe from the gallery or to speak to an agenda item (by contacting Council by 12 noon the day before the meeting via this link https://www.bellingen.nsw.gov.au/sites/bellingen/files/public/images/documents/bellingen/Council/Application%20Forms/Application%20to%20have%20a%20Deputation%20to%20Council.pdf). Councillors and staff also welcome your feedback by email/ phone/ Facebook.

The very exciting part of the agenda is launching the Draft Local Housing Strategy (part of the Shire’s Growth Management Strategy) for public exhibition. A huge amount of work has gone into this document, including staff, councillors and of course an incredibly engaged community and it’s groups and networks.

Other agenda items include the IPART report on Rating, Traffic Committee (an interagency group), Westpac Helicopter Charity Ride, Lifeguard services, the future of the Urunga Visitors Information Centre building and the usual progress reports on water, planning, maintenance, construction, investments, building and regulation. A new report is launching this month, and on a 6 monthly basis thereafter, which will focus on the business and customer side of the organisation, which includes things like the Environment section and customer service. It will be good to see data and updates from this part of Council.
